![Pantiero.jpg](files/ff25e8f4-d378-45df-9364-f3471a36df25/Pantiero.jpg) Bonjour, I'm Anthony Meilland, CNRS researcher in astrophysics working at the [Lagrange ](https://lagrange.oca.eu)Laboratory in Nice, a joint facility of the [CNRS](https://www.cnrs.fr/), the [Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur](https://www.oca.eu/), and The[ Université Côte d'Azur](https://univ-cotedazur.fr/). Since I started my phD in 2004 on observations and modelling of classical Be stars circumstellar disks using the Very Large Telescope Interferometer (VLTI) a facility located in the Atacama desert in Chile (wonderful place to go), I've been working on massive stars & interferometry using instruments at VLTI and at its Northern/US counterpart, the Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy (CHARA) located at Mount Wilson, California (great place to go too). I joined the MATISSE project in 2012, and since then I have been responsible for the development of its real-time fringe coherencing software. I also participated in the installation, test, and commissioning of the instrument in Chile. Three years ago, I lost a bet with Florentin Millour and that is why I am the chairman of this VLTI School that should have taken place near my wonderful home town of Antibes if not for the covid crisis...
